The young white stork named Miki, who was admitted to the White Stork Recovery Centre within the Drava Story Visitor Centre in Noskovci in early August last year, was today transported back to the village of Mokrice in Krapina-Zagorje County.
Miki lost one of his parents during a thunderstorm that struck the Krapina-Zagorje area in late June last year. Since the remaining parent was unable to feed all four chicks in the nest, Miki fell behind in development and was unable to fly or care for himself like the other young storks. As a result, he began seeking food from local residents in the village of Mokrice.
In agreement with the Krapina-Zagorje County Public Institution Zagorje Green, the staff of our Public Institution took over Miki’s care until he fully recovered. Today, after more than eight months, Miki was returned home and released back into the wild.

Good luck, Miki!
