Yesterday, on November 27, 2024, as part of the implementation of the project Integrated River Management, LIFE14 NAT/HR/000115 (acronym: Drava Life), a ceremonial opening of the DRAVA LIFE Educational Trail was held at the Visitor center the Drava Story in Noskovci. The event was attended by the Deputy Prefect of Virovitica-Podravina County, Marijo Klement, the Mayor of Čađavica Municipality, Mirko Rončević, representatives of Hrvatske vode (Croatian Waters) – the project’s lead partner, as well as representatives of other project partners and guests.
The ceremony began with welcome speeches delivered by the Director of the Public Institution for the Management of Protected Parts of Nature and the Ecological Network of Virovitica Podravina County, Tatjana Arnold Sabo, and the Mayor of Čađavica Municipality, Mirko Rončević. Igor Tošić from Hrvatske vode Varaždin spoke about the project itself.
The activities of all partners implemented during the 9 years of the project were presented to attendees through the screening of a 30-minute film entitled A New Life for the Drava. After the film, Chief Nature Ranger Vladimir Ajhler and Nature Ranger I, Karlo Fičko, presented all the features of the new DRAVA LIFE Educational Trail.
The trail was officially opened by Deputy Prefect Marijo Klement, followed by a guided tour of the educational trail.
The DRAVA LIFE Educational Trail was realized as part of the Integrated River Management project (LIFE14 NAT/HR/000115), implemented from December 1, 2015, to November 30, 2024. The total value of the project is €4,592,898, with EU co-financing amounting to €2,755,739.
